Mobile World Congress 2022 attracted worldwide attention and once again turned Barcelona into the world's technology capital, bringing together more than 60,000 attendees, 1,900 sponsors, and 1,000 speakers.
In addition to new products and launches from major brands, the Mobile World Congress 2022 also accommodated emerging companies or 'startups' to showcase their new technology-based solutions in the 4YFN - '4 Years From Now' - platform.
Over the course of three days, MWC was the chosen stage of reflection for industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and government representatives to discuss how to develop policies for a digital world, maximize the potential of 5G, bridge the digital divide, and meet global climate goals.
To help navigate the numerous topics and sessions at MWC, VMLY&R has curated a list of four major themes TO FOLLOW:
We've also gathered our selection of MWC's Top Innovative Devices and 4YFN Best Ideas.
OPPO introduces a list of innovative technologies, such as 150W SUPERVOOCTM flash charging with Battery Health Engine that doubles battery life. Built with direct charging technology with charge pumps, the 150W SUPERVOOC TM flash charge can charge a 4500 mAh battery to 50% in 5 minutes and as little as 15 minutes for a 100% charge.
The Realme GT 2 Pro includes a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. 8/12 GB of RAM, 128/256 GB of storage, 5,000 mAh battery with 65 W fast charging, and a set of cameras that put Realme on par with the highest-end in photography. Realme has put special effort into giving the second generation of the GT a style of its own: rough finish back, metal body, curved lines, and excellent grip.
The new Magic 4 and Magic 4 Pro include LTPO screen displays and an Eye of Muse-branded camera configuration with an ultra-wide lens and enhanced field of view. Its multi-camera fusion technology and AI noise canceling are two of its strongest features: the multi-camera technology merges your pictures from each lens to give better photos, while the AI Privacy Call function adjusts the level on your call based on surrounding noise.
Samsung devices are once again a total commitment to slimness and lightness, which characterize all their new versions: with 13.3 and 15.6-inch models for both pure notebooks and convertibles. This also helps the weight, which in the case of the most compact model, the 13.3-inch Galaxy Book2 Pro, is only 870 grams. It has two-way stereo speakers with Sound by AKG technology noise cancellation, and Dolby Atmos has a capacity of up to 1 TB with NVMe SSD hard drive and different configurations of the LPDDR5 memory capacity of 8, 16, or 32 GB.
Through state-of-the-art technology, Spot is able to monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations in the factories. This is made possible by the robot's built-in thermal camera and 3D LiDAR sensor that can detect whether a door is open or closed or whether people are nearby. In this way, Spot can see fires and extraordinarily high or low temperatures that could present a risk for the employees or environment.

The two PPG sensors on the TicWatch GTH Pro deliver unique insights into artery health and other biometrics specific to the user via high-fidelity sensing points on the wrist and fingertip. The TicWatch GTH Pro can monitor a user's arterial waveforms – pressure waves based on the strength of the user's pulse as blood flows through the user's body – with algorithms based on ATCOR's proprietary SphygmoCor® technology* with just a light touch of the finger on the side sensor.

The Catalan startup Silt, based in Barcelona, has created a system based on artificial intelligence that verifies in less than six seconds the identity of a user when they want to access an application, without having to take a photo or scan the ID each time. The goal is to avoid losses of up to 50% of users who do not end up registering at the time of requesting photographs of their documentation.
Silt, which finished its technological development during the pandemic, is aimed at companies in the financial sector, shared mobility, car rental, real estate, hotel check-in or home delivery.
Proppos' business model aims to improve restaurant performance by using big data to speed up queues, especially at peak hours, improving the shopping experience and productivity. Proppos Fastpay, the startup's first solution, has already been implemented through pilot tests in leading food service establishments, such as cafeterias and fast-food restaurants.
Proppos operates through intelligent points of sale that recognize the product and the price and collect payment automatically without needing to read barcodes. The solution has proven to be 10 times faster than the traditional payment process that exists in this type of service.
