VMLY&R Honored by Fast Company as a Best Place to Work for Innovators

Fast Company has honored VMLY&R in the inaugural Advertising/Marketing/Communications category on its fifth annual Best Workplaces for Innovators list, which recognizes organizations and businesses that demonstrate an inspiring commitment to encourage and develop innovation at all levels.

VMLY&R’s spot on the list was secured because of the agency’s award-winning, innovative work, which is helping client partners create connected brands, including:

• “I Will Always Be Me” by VMLY&R U.S. for Dell Technologies and Intel, in partnership with the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Rolls-Royce: A first-of-its-kind book for people living with motor neurone disease that banks their voices as they read aloud — giving them the words to express what they're going through — and preserve their voices.
• “Smart Fill Machine” VMLY&R Commerce India for Hindustan Unilever: An in-store vending model for its Home Care products, playing on the popular sustainability mantra of “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” with their own iteration: Reuse, Refill and Reward. This industry-defining initiative offers consumers an innovative option to reuse their plastic bottles by refilling products from HUL’s flagship brands, including Surf Excel, Comfort and Vim.
• “Anti-Look: The Lifesaving QR Code Design” by Scholz & Friends (a VMLY&R company) for Johanniter: An innovative idea to reduce gawking at accident scenes. A special QR code was placed on ambulances, paramedics, and equipment that prompts smartphone cameras pointed at a rescue operation with a message that confronts the onlookers and directs their attention away from the accident. 

The 2023 Best Workplaces for Innovators ranks winners from a variety of industries, including entertainment, biotech, consumer packaged goods, marketing, education, healthcare, and more. Fast Company editors and researchers collaborated to score nearly 1,000 submissions. The 2023 awards feature workplaces from around the world.
