Over the last few years, it has become clear that the quality of pitches within the industry has continuously been declining. However, this is not the agencies’ fault, but rather has been occurring due to conditions under which the pitches are arranged and executed. The International Advertising Association and our CEO Sebastian Bayer, who acts as Vice President of the IAA, have tackled this problem and have developed a charter which aims to guarantee fair conditions for both sides: The Pitch Quality Charter.
The new charter, which has already been welcomed by leading agencies and employers in Austria, advocates, amongst other principles, that of fair opportunities, whilst it opposes extra services that are not remunerated. This is an important step for the industry in terms of quality and fairness, but will hopefully also act as an incentive to improve conditions for creative people in the competitive market.
