VMLY&R Managing Director Iva Welker, together with Petra Ondrušová (Česká spořitelna) and Jana Sedláková (Sedlakova Legal), spoke in a panel discussion on balancing career and motherhood at the second annual Femme Palette conference.
Moderated by Ursa Pejovnik, the discussion focused on the topic of balancing career and motherhood. Each woman brought her own experience to the discussion and shared her story to motivate other women in a similar situation. From questions about the choice between career and motherhood, through long-term and temporary changes in priorities, they got to the topic of the importance of proper communication with the close environment in personal and professional life. All three women agreed that having children does not mean the end of a career, but it is important to stay in touch with your employer and industry, which almost every company nowadays allows. Iva Welker added: "Don't be afraid to ask for help. From your partner, family, friends and at work. In order to be successful at work, the employer has to make sure that the person is successful and happy overall."
Femme Palette is an educational platform that helps women with career growth and focuses on mentoring and other educational activities. This year's Femme Palette conference was held at the WPP Campus on Bubenská Street thanks to a partnership with WPP agencies VMLY&R, Wunderman Thompson and H1.cz.
