VMLY&R Prague is in close contact with the Ukrainian office and is coordinating the efforts of VMLY&R offices in the CEE region to offer maximum help and support, including helping Ukrainian colleagues and their families who decide to go to the Czech Republic to establish a base or by offering a place to stay.
With other WPP agencies in the Czech Republic, a local collection has been set up to which all employees can contribute financially. The amount raised will be used primarily to help Ukrainian colleagues and their families. The remaining funds will be donated to the non-profit organisation Člověk v tísni, to which WPP Czech Republic will also donate CZK 1 million. In addition, the agencies are jointly organising practical assistance and coordinating a collection of necessities to help refugees.
The VMLY&R team working for client Česká spořitelna also prepared a campaign in record time to support the Memory of the Nation collection of the non-profit Post Bellum. Česká spořitelna provided the organisation with free media space running across on TV and digital in March.
Our response in the Czech Republic is in addition to the global fundraising appeal WPP has created with UNHCR, the UN refugee agency, and WPP’s commitment to match-fund donations from employees.
VMLY&R is part of WPP, which on Friday 4 March announced the decision by its board to discontinue its operations in Russia.
