Cinnamon Hotels engaged VMLY&R to revamp all of their resort websites across Sri Lanka and the Maldives across 4 languages in 2018. This included creating a brand new visual identity, tonality and personality to the group website. The biggest pain point for the group was the lack of direct bookings and the high number of drop-offs on their current website.
VMLY&R’s strategy included a personalized and persuasive approach to subtly urge users to book on the website directly. The personalized style engaged users based on their past online behavior and trends/preferences more suited for them.
A combination of the two approaches and the warm & friendly tonality of the website would urge users to immerse themselves in the website experience and book directly.
