Facebook Tutorials Takeover

WHEN FACEBOOK WANTED TO MAKE A GAMING AND EDUCATION MASH-UP THAT COULD REALLY BENEFIT STUDENTS, THEY ASKED HELP FROM VMLY&R.

How do you make teaching science to hundreds of thousands of teens in one sitting fun? At the same time, raise money for a public school? Combine it with their favorite pastime — playing mobile games and watching game streamers on the country’s top social media platform.

OUR INTEGRATED SOLUTION

VMLY&R partnered with Tier One Entertainment, an esports and gaming agency to have Dexie Diaz, a famous teenage gamer, stream herself playing Mobile Legends. While Dexie played the Philippines’ top mobile game, a Physics teacher sat beside her and explained the scientific principles used on the game. The stream is entitled “Physics x Mobile Legends.” The stars — a Facebook Gaming feature that viewers can buy and send to streamers as a monetary gift — earned during Dexie’s stream was donated for the benefit of Quezon City Science High School.

Fusing fun and technology in teaching science for the benefit of students and schools is continually expanding. “Call of Duty x History” and “DOTA2 x Math” is on the way.

CONNECTED BRAND EXPERIENCE

Aside from ideation and background research, VMLY&R oversaw the partnerships between Facebook Creative Shop, Facebook Gaming and Tier One Entertainment, as well as production for Dexie Diaz’s livestream. The agency connected the Quezon City Science High School administration, alumni and its faculty for the stream and managed Dexie’s star donations to the school administration.

Efforts for Tutorials Takeover with Facebook Creative Shop, Facebook Gaming and Tier One are currently on-going and expanding.
