VMLY&R New York duo Gabe Jardim and Guto Monteiro are featured on the 2019 Adweek Creative 100. The creative directors are highlighted for their work on “The Runaway Pub” campaign, made for New Balance, which allowed athletes enrolled in the London marathon to exchange kilometers traveled for beers in a pub.
Each year, Adweek celebrates the Creative 100, a roster of gifted professionals who inspire current and future generations not only with their work but also their passion for creativity across advertising, media, art, literature, animation and more. As the lines between marketers and makers continue to blur, creative talents are crossing over into culture in more ways than ever before. While defining creativity can be impossibly nuanced, Adweek recognizes those who push boundaries and exhibit creative excellence in their fields.
“Our industry is in a moment where brands that are not culturally relevant are more likely to be out of the game," Jardim says. "As creatives working in the ad industry, we've never had so much opportunities to impact people's lives as we have right now."
