VMLY&R and sister WPP agency, Makerhouse, will participate in this year’s Detroit Month of Design with a studio showcase, panel discussion with key thought leaders and rooftop reception at the historic Marquette Building, home to WPP’s Detroit Campus.
The 12th annual Detroit Month of Design – hosted by Design Core Detroit – is a citywide celebration of creativity that gathers designers and the greater community to celebrate Detroit’s role as a national and global design capital. Taking place during the entire month of September, the festival features a combination of virtual, outdoor and indoor experiences.
In partnership with Design Core Detroit, VMLY&R and Makerhouse will co-host a “Detroit Design Studio Experience” on Thursday, September 22 at the Marquette Building (243 West Congress Street, Detroit). During the event, participants will network with industry leaders and peers, view a showcase of studio work, listen to presentations and a panel discussion around the power of being United by Design, and enjoy a scenic rooftop reception overlooking downtown and the Detroit River.
“Design is increasingly important as a powerful brand and business tool,” said Michele Silvestri, Global President of Makerhouse. “We are so excited to be a part of Detroit Month of Design, to connect with the design community, and share our experience and passion for all things design.”
Panel speakers include Michele Silvestri, Global President, Makerhouse; Christine Jones, EVP, Global Executive Design + Content Director, Makerhouse; Eric Looney, Chief Experience Design Officer, VMLY&R; and moderator Kevin Karolak, Chief Communications Officer & CMO, GTB.
