
LEADERSHIP
Suba Nadarajah and Tasha Gilroy, joint executive directors of diversity, equity and inclusion, lead VMLY&R’s global DEI strategy. Together, they focus on introducing new programs and partnerships that build on the agency’s inclusive culture and diverse workforce. Additionally, they work to drive continued cultural literacy, awareness, and acceptance across the organization.
Tasha leads talent and partnership initiatives that build VMLY&R’s pipeline of top talent in North America and globally. She guides the vision and execution for an equitable talent recruitment and retention strategy across the network. She manages and grows the agency’s many existing relationships with partner organizations such as 4A’s MAIP, ColorComm, AAF Mosaic Center for Multiculturalism, One Club for Creativity and 3% Conference.
Suba leads the development and implementation of internal strategies that nurture a vibrant, inclusive, and equitable global culture. She cultivates independent employee networks and programs and wider industry support systems in collaboration with organizations such as NAAAP, Mid-America GLCC and GLAAD. She also leads in-agency advocacy, identifies and advances best practices, education, and employee engagement programs that promote progressive environments where all talent can thrive.

Women Around the World is a podcast series hosted by Beth Wade, global chief marketing officer, that features open and honest discussions with women throughout our global network. Powered by VMLY&R Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the goal of this series is to share, educate, and inspire one another. Listen here.

Women@VMLY&R Powered by DE&I hosts Coffee Connection where participants are paired with three different contacts, an introduction is made by email and they then find 30 minutes to discuss different topics in person or over the phone. Organizers provide guidance on topics to choose from, but the participants schedule meetings their own. The program connects and empowers women while providing professional and personal development through testimonials and experiences.

"Brave Questions, Safe Spaces" is a content series powered by DE&I. There is power in sharing — one that connects us all. Different events throughout the year are hosted to share, move hearts, and educate minds — creating a community of understanding. Brave Questions, Safe Spaces (BQSS) serves as a springboard for VMLY&Rers all around to share, learn, empathize, and understand each other better, and how to better impact the work we do.

The struggle for equality in the world and workplace has been going on for decades. While considerable progress has been made, many in the LGBTQ+ community still worry that revealing their true selves will have negative repercussions. The "Proudly Said" podcast series features open and honest conversations that help educate people and build awareness about LGBTQ+ issues. The series highlights the stories of LGBTQ+ people within VMLY&R and from the communities our agency is involved. Listen here.

“Pass the Jam" is no longer just something you say when you want to jazz up your toast. Diversity, equity and inclusion are key ingredients in creative that drives culture. "Pass the Jam" features creative thought leaders from around the globe sharing how the importance of being an empathetic creator and why collaborating with different people are the keys to groundbreaking work. Excellent creativity comes from a mashup of diverse minds and the unique flavor that everyone brings to the table.

We were one of the first two agencies to have become 3% Certified by The 3% Movement. The organization said agencies that receive the 3% stamp of approval are ones that actively promote equality in the workplace and meet a particular set of goals, including female leadership, opportunity for advancement, respectful depictions in work and equality of work, wage and policies.
