VMLY&R South Africa was among the winners at last night’s Loeries awards with eight honors including two Golds, two Silvers, three Bronze awards and a craft certificate in multiple categories.
Don’t Tell Me What to Do for Edgarsreceived six awards including Gold in Film Crafts – Original Music & Sound Design, Silver in OOH- Outdoor Media, Silver in Digital - Social Media, Bronze in Branded Content – Radio & Audio, Bronze in Film – Online Film above 30” and a Certificate in Digital Crafts – Music & Sound Design. Don’t Tell Me What to Do features an African musical that became an anthem for self-expression, bringing together over 30 African personalities to reconnect Edgars to culture. This collaboration created branded films and social content to the sound of the original music written and performed by Africa’s fastest-rising star, poet, rapper and fashion designer,Sho Madjozi.

Cancer Mandala for Cancer Dojo won Craft Gold in OOH Crafts – Illustration. The campaign supports cancer patients in playing a positive role in their treatment. Merging the ancient Buddhist practice of sand mandalasand the science of psychoneuroimmunology, a series of interactive posters were designed that enabled patients to interact positively with parts of their body affected by cancer, allowing them to play a role in their healing.
