Co-founded with his wife, Jess, the store is located in their hometown of Anoka, just 20 minutes northwest of Minneapolis. Ythan and his wife expertly curate a small, rotating list of wines that encourages customers to explore the vast world of wine, paired with the cultural delicacies that Anoka has to offer. Ambi Wine Bar opened its doors in 2019 after a successful Kickstarter campaign garnered interest, partially thanks to the VMLY&R family who supported Ythan. With the goal of reinvigorating their community and showcasing the great things Anoka has to offer, Ythan and his wife decided to turn their passion of wine into an experience that highlights “Classic Anoka” with a modern twist. The couple’s shared passion for wine began early in their relationship when Ythan and Jess first started dating. Ythan was living in San Francisco and Jess was in Minneapolis. While cultivating a long-distance relationship, the pair spent many evenings video chatting about the latest bottle of wine they had discovered.
