As one of the world’s first Chief Social Officers of an agency, Liz Cole leads a rapidly growing collective of 100+ social media strategists, specialists, and community managers at VML who are focused on helping brands drive meaningful engagement with consumers. Her team at VML continually builds and refines best-in-class social media programs for brands like Wendy’s, Ford, and The Coca-Cola Company.

Over her career, Liz’s work has driven relevance, reputation, and revenue for some of the world’s biggest brands, spanning the CPG, retail, food and beverage, home improvement, and technology sectors. She is a frequent contributor to industry publications and analyst reports and has sat at the helm of social strategy for clients at all stages of maturity in social marketing—from brands formalizing their approach for the first time to those fine-tuning their effectiveness based on emerging insights in the space.

A native New Englander, Liz has a degree in Linguistics from UMass Amherst which she now uses primarily for solving crossword puzzles. She resides in Chicago with her husband and two young sons.
